It’s been a distressing year, but with the holidays being my very favourite time of year, I’ve decided to go full-on Christmas mode anyway and find joy in the little things in life. So when Sarah Sue Design asked me to take part in her 12 Days of Holiday Fun, you know I couldn’t say no!

If you aren’t familiar with Sarah Sue Design yet, it is a sustainable fashion brand based in Winnipeg. Every item is made ethically in Canada with eco-friendly fabrics. The 12 Days of Holiday Fun campaign is a collaboration between Sarah Sue Design and local bloggers to showcase some of her beautiful pieces all while spreading a little holiday cheer (like discounts on these said pieces!)

For my feature today on Day 11 of the 12 Days of Holiday Fun, I’m excited to be showing you 11 ways to wear the Nedra Turtleneck in charcoal! (gifted)

Why I chose the Nedra Turtleneck

  • Versatility: Because I like to keep my wardrobe somewhat minimalist, I try to always be intentional with the pieces I bring in, and that usually means sticking to basics. The Nedra turtleneck was something I could see myself wearing in multiple ways.

  • Fabric: The Nedra turtleneck is made of a sustainable. Oeko-tex® certified bamboo/cotton blend, making it suuuper soft. I already owned a top from a different slow fashion brand made of this same fabric blend, so I knew the Nedra turtleneck would be a piece I’d feel really cozy in.

  • Wishlist item: A charcoal turtleneck was something I had on my wishlist for most of this past year (I had been eyeing three different ones from various slow fashion brands👀), and you’ll see why below when you see the multiple unique outfits I was able to put together with my Nedra turtleneck already.🤗

  • Colour choice: I chose the charcoal because it goes well with all my bottoms including my many black ones, but the Nedra turtleneck also comes in black and a beautiful pinkish colour called thistle. You can check out the full listing on Sarah Sue’s website here.

Now that you’ve got that little intro, here are 11 ways to wear the Sarah Sue Design Nedra turtleneck!

  1. Add a vest

Vests are one of my favourite pieces to add interest to a basic item. You really just need the one in a colour you love and you’re golden. Being minimalist, many of my tops are solids in neutral tones so that my outfits are easy to mix and match, wh…

Vests are one of my favourite pieces to add interest to a basic item. You really just need the one in a colour you love and you’re golden. Being minimalist, many of my tops are solids in neutral tones so that my outfits are easy to mix and match, which makes this vest so easy to style. I’ve had it for three years and love how it looks with the Nedra turtleneck (the vest is olive in colour and actually contrasts with it better in person). Sarah Sue Design sells a few gorgeous vests herself! Check them out here.👀

2. Pair it with your favourite cardigan

Because bamboo is a lightweight fabric, the Nedra turtleneck can easily be paired with extra layers without feeling too warm. I love throwing on a cozy cardi even over long sleeve tops for a pop of colour and an extra set of pockets. 😘 Here I style…

I love throwing on a cozy cardi even over long sleeve tops for a pop of colour and an extra set of pockets. 😘 Here I styled the duo with some mom jeans and black ankle boots.

3. Tuck it into a high-waisted skirt

I’ve owned this skirt for five years now and it’s still my go-to holiday piece. It instantly makes whatever top I wear with it look more festive, including the Nedra turtleneck!

4. Top it with a denim jacket

Will denim jackets ever go out of style? I love how casual it makes the Nedra turtleneck look styled with white sneakers, a tuque (heck you can even steal one from your husband like someone I know🙊), and high-waisted pants.

5. Layer it under an itchy Christmas Sweater

6. Layer it over a long tee and leggings

Ok now I’m starting to sound like Oprah on her Christmas giveaway episode: YOU GET LAYERS, and YOU GET LAYERS, and YOU ALL GET LAYERS!! But in all seriousness, the Nedra turtleneck isn’t only great as a base layer, it also has a great shape that can be thrown over a long tank or tee too. I’ve styled it here over a white tee, thrifted faux leather leggings, added a thrifted bag, and my trusty black ankle booties.

7. Dress it up with wide leg pants and flats

The perfect office attire, business presentation outfit, or maybe you just want to look professional around the house these days, no judgement here. 🤷🏻‍♀️ The wide leg pants I own are ankle length, but you can also check out Sarah Sue’s cropped wi…

8. Dress it down as a faux sweatsuit

How many of Pat’s items did I “borrow” for one styling post🤔… Two, the answer is two.😂 Monochrome looks are all the rage this year as are sweatsuits, so why not pretend you own one while using some pieces you (and your husband) already own? This w…

This was the ultimate comfort outfit of this entire post (tbh I was kinda bummed I had to change into other outfits after and should’ve kept it for last😂).

9. Winterize a wrap top

So many cute Summer tops, so little time of year to wear them, unlesss… Yup, you guessed it, layering again.💁🏻‍♀️ Might as well maximize your wardrobe (especially if you’re intentional and only keep a somewhat condensed amount of clothes like me) …

10. Winterize a dress

Layer a turtleneck underneath and you’re good👌🏼 Above I styled this lace dress with knee-high boots & socks, but this layering look would also look cute with leggings or tights and ankle boots as well!

BONUS:
11. Wear it as a pyjama shirt

…because it’s so comfy you’ll never take it off.😘

Think this piece would make a great addition to your intentional wardrobe? It’s currently on promo for $20 off until December 13th inclusively. You can find it here (the link does not give me any incentive, I just truly love this company and think they’re lovely to support if it is within your means and an item that would fill a gap in your wardrobe).

Sending you all love and holiday magic,
